The Lord has Come

"Joy to the world the Lord has come, let Earth receive her King. Let every heart prepare Him room and Heaven and nature sing...." As the song goes, let every mankind rejoice for the king and the savior has come. Open your heart and enkindle in your mind that Christmas is the birth of our savior Jesus Christ.

They say that the true essence of Christ mas is not about giving gifts, exchanging cards. It is about giving love and sharing your joyfulness to everyone. It's not about receiving. It is about giving. But, is the true essence of Christmas is really within us?

We can all feel the cold breeze of December. We are feeling it since the start of the "BER" month. Every 25th of December, we are all celebrating the birth of our savior Jesus Christ in which it is the most awaited time of the year. Christmas is when yoy and your family comes together. You forget all the problems and struggles you are facing. You do not hear cries, instead you hear laughters and you can clearly see the genuinity of their smiles. It's a tradition of every Filipinos to celebrate Christmas season which historically adopted from the Western countries. Hanging "parols", decorating Christmas lights and Christmas tree became a practice of Filipinos. Children and in some times, adults often carols from house to house. Christmas is trully a significant season for the Filipinos.

Nowadays, many people tend to forget about what really the essence of Christmas is. For them, christmas is receiving gift from others. They are more into material things. In reality, some people can no longer feel the true spirit of Christmas.

The true essence of Christmas is the birth of our savior Jesus Christ to redeem the world from our sins. Let us put into our minds and into our hearts that Christmas is a gift to us from God-our Loving Father!

WE AS ONE

United Nations Day is celebrated during 24th of October. United Nations Day marks the 73rd anniversary of the Un charter's entry into force, and celebrates everything that the UN represents and has achieved since it's establishment in 1945.

The United Nation Month 2018 theme is "Comingtogether with those furthest behind build an inclusive world of universal rights and dignity". In the 25 years since the first International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, human development has lifted hundreds of millions of people out of poverty, and has increased economic and social oppurtunities for many more accross the world. Yet, while hundreds of millions of people have moved above the poverty line, we are not yet reaching everyone. The theme reminds us that ensuring access to basic needs like water, food, shelter, or safety will also give back some basic human rights and dignity to millions of people. It is important to recall the fundamental connection between human rights and extreme poverty, and that people living in poverty are disproprotionately affected by many human rights violations.

With the distance that we have from other countries accross the world, there is a big gap present between and among our countries. So, to develop and build our relationship and to commit a parallel and common universal rights and dignity, we should have closer relationships and connections with each other. With this, there will be a common understanding and respect with each other.

On this International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, let's reflect on the progress made, and recommit to ensuring no one is left behind.

As a student, we can see how hard it is to be a teacher. To stand all day. To talk all day even if some of the students are not listening. To make the students learn about certain things. We can see all the sacrifices and the efforts of the teachers every single day. They teach us manners. They give us knowledge. They teach us how to live life.

For all the sacrifices that the teachers gave, we know that a simple thank you will not be enough to pay all of your hardworks but we really are thankful and grateful in a million times. Continue teaching and inspiring students to strive harder and to not give up on what they want to achieve.

Reflection

It was June when we started discussing the lessons that are required in ICT. We've learned about the history of the internet, the different internet pioneers, the philippine internet architectures. Then about the web browsers, search engines, The URL, the 3 types of multimedia, and many more. We also talked about what is blog, the different kinds of blogs and etc. These are just some of the lessons we discussed. There were problems that I have encountered in making blogs. One of it is about making a gmail. When I was in elementary, we were told by the teacher to make a gmail. Of course I was a child back then, i didnt know the use and the important of the gmail. I had so many gmail accounts. All of my names were used. I didnt know what to use. I thought of a way to make an another account and then I realized, I will just put my first name and my last name and add iam. I got so nervous because if this email will not be accepted, I will not know what email i am going to use. But then, the email got accepted! I was so happy back then and i feel relieved. Moving on, i will listen very well and attentively on our teacher. I will study hard on the subject and try my best to pass.

SONA 2018: Road to Change

Image result for sona images 2018 philippines

The state of the nation address (SONA) or the Talumpati sa Kalagayan ng Bansa is an annual address by the president of the Philippines to a joint session of the Congress of the Philippines. Mandated by this 1987 constitution, the speech or the SONA is delivered every July.

SONA serves as a means to inform the nation about its present economic, political, and social condition. It is also where the President summarizes his/her accomplishment and plans for his/her program of government both for a particular year and until the end of their term of office.

Last Monday (July 23, 2018 ), President Rodrigo “Roa” Duterte, the current President of the Philippines delivered his third SONA. In his SONA, he mentioned about the different problem our country is currently facing. One of these are the war on drugs. War on drugs is a series of actions tending toward a prohibition of illegal drug trade. It is adopted by the US government to end the import, manufacture, sale and use of illegal drugs. “The war on drugs will not be side-lined. It will be a relentless and chilly if you will, as on the day it began.”

Another topic is the corruption. Corruption is the dishonest or illegal behavior a person especially by the powerful people such as government officials.  Corruption is not a new issue in our country. “Corruption must STOP!”

Health is very important as the saying goes “HEALTH IS WEALTH”. They are currently institutionalizing the implementation of No Billing Policy. He also said that there are more things that is needed to be done to improve health care system. “I urge speedy passage of universal health care bill”

Human right is very important also. If human right is well-respected, all follows.  It must be one of the President’s priorities. Duterte said that human right to him means giving Filipinos a different future to have better lives. Nowadays, many people is not achieving their rights as a human because someone is not letting them have the right on every individual. “Your concern is human rights, mine is human lives”

The other topics that had been mentioned is about the Mindanao, International relation, migrant workers, contractualization, and etc. We all expect that this plans/program that had been discussed will surely be done. You must walk your talk. With great power comes great responsibility as what Spiderman have said. “I will not bore you with a list of projects completed. Daghang salamat.”

PLANT SEEDS, HARVEST NUTRIENTS!

Image result for nutrition month 2018 logo

“Bahay-kubo, kahit munti, ang halaman doon ay sari-sari”, this is just a line of a song entitled “ bahay-kubo “. It tells that even if your house is not the modern one or the house that we often see nowadays, we can still plant on the backyard and harvest plants and fruits that is rich in nutrients. “Magtanim ay di biro, maghapong nakayuko...”, and this is a song in which it tells how hard planting can be.

Nutrition month is annual campaign held every July to create greater awareness on the importance of nutrition among Filipinos. “Ugaliing Magtanim, Sapat na nutrisyon Aanihin!” this is the nutrition month theme 2018 which is chosen by the National Nutrition Council or the NNC. It is the entry of Ms. Julie Ann Colipano. This theme focuses on family food gardening and food production through the family’s own garden. Having food garden can improve the family’s food security. We all know that we can get diseases on different food, but by planting fruits and vegetables in your/our own backyard, we can ensure the family’s safety and everyone’s safety. If we plant on our own backyard we can have healthier food consumption. Planting fruits and vegetables is not only for the farmers. We can plant to. Planting can be done by everyone of us in the community.

Good nutrition and being healthy can lead you to a healthy lifestyle. Nutrients is very important on our body. It makes us healthy. And as the saying goes “HEALTH IS WEALTH”. Being healthy is like having all the tons of gold and silver. What are you waiting for? PLANT SEEDS, HARVEST NUTRIENTS!

Has change arrived?

President Rodrigo "Roa" Duterte
President of the Philippines
MalacaƱang Palace, Manila

To Mr. Rodrigo Duterte,

Greetings Sir! I was a fan of your administration the very first day you land your hands on our country because I believed that you'll make our country better. But then came the different issues involving your way of dealing the problems our country is facing.

Image result for war on drugs philippines
I prepared a question for the students, that is "If you were given a chance to talk to our President, what will you say?" Mostly, all of them complained about how your administration works. The oplan tokhang which is at first effective, because the numbers of drug users is decreasing but as days passed, many innocent people were also killed. The recent issue in which you called our God stupid. It was the first time that the government and the church went against each other. Let me remind you sir, that you are a president. You only have the authority to lead our country. You don't have the right to call our God stupid. And also, please prevent yourself from cursing and saying inappropriate words in public. You are the president. You're supposed to be a good role model and a good leader.

Mr. President, the citizens voted you because they believed in you. We believed that you can change our country and make it better than the past years. And also, I want to congratulate you on the things that you've done to our country and the things that soon, you will be doing.

Sincerely yours,

Philippine Independence

Philippines has been colonized by 3 countries which is the Japan, Spain, and the America. Filipinos suffered so much pain. They were mistreated and disrespected. Philippines was controlled and manipulated in their hands. But not until, some of them learned to fight for what is right and for claiming what is ours. We call them now as our national heroes. They fought even if they do not have enough armors and equipment and some fought using an ink of a pen and a piece of a paper. They sacrificed their lives just to have our freedom that have been taken away from us.

June 12, 1898. This marks the date when they declared that Philippine is now free by the hands of the 3 countries. This happened several years ago, and up to until now, we are still celebrating it. June 12 became our independence day and we celebrate it annually. In which there are no classes in all school levels. Philippine Independence is very significant in our country. It marks the country's independence. Celebrating this is very important because by this, we can say thank you and be grateful to the sacrifices that our heroes have done. They have done so many sacrifices just to get the freedom that have been taken away from us. The Philippine Independence is very important in the Philippine history.

Although we are freed, we can't be doing things that are inappropriate and may destroy our country. We must know our limitations. And even though the Philippine is a free country, we must always remember that in any time, other countries may again, colonize Philippines. We must be prepared at all times.

To A New Chapter of Life!
